4.0 Safety Precautions
The paramount importance of safety cannot be overstated. ESD test simulators generate high voltages that can pose a significant risk to personnel. Strict adherence to the following safety procedures is non-negotiable and is essential for protecting both operators and test equipment.
- Initial Inspection: During the initial equipment setup, a qualified safety engineer or applicable safety representative must inspect the operating location.
- Environmental Check: The inspection must verify that the equipment is not operated in a combustible or otherwise hazardous environment.
- Mandatory Training: All personnel must receive systematic operational and safety training before they are authorized to operate the ESD test equipment.
Once all safety requirements are met and verified, the first procedural step is to qualify the equipment’s performance to ensure it meets the required specifications.
