5.0 Acceptance Criteria and Reporting
The ultimate goal of this protocol is to make a clear pass/fail determination based on the EUT’s performance during and after the application of electrostatic discharges. This section defines the precise criteria for acceptance and outlines the necessary documentation to ensure a complete and verifiable test record.
5.1 Criteria for Acceptance
For the Equipment Under Test to successfully pass the test, the following conditions must be met:
- During the test: No incorrect operation shall occur.
- Transient phenomena: Transient false information given by indicating devices, such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs), shall be tolerated. This acknowledges that minor, non-critical disturbances are acceptable.
- After the test: The Equipment Under Test shall still comply with the relevant performance specification, demonstrating that no permanent degradation or damage has occurred.
5.2 Test Report
The settings, any variations from this protocol, and all observed results associated with the tests must be meticulously documented in a formal test report. The report should, at a minimum, specify the selected test points as defined by the manufacturer to ensure traceability and reproducibility of the test.
